Guess I should be trying to get some sleep as I leave for LA in the AM. I am very fortunate to have a wonderful and supportive family. My sister, Laura, will be arriving in LA on Friday. Why do these events in my life occur on significant dates for others? When Lisa and I went to Denver in February it was on her birthday. This trip will take Laura away from her husband on their anniversary. Makes me sad.
The plan is for surgery Friday, hoping it's laparoscopic but will tell Dr. Parker to go ahead and extend to an open abdominal procedure if that's what it takes. My goal in all of this is to maintain and optimize my ability to have a healthy pregnancy and delivery. So I will trust Dr. Parker to do whatever he can to that end. Then Laura and I are hoping that I feel well enough to get out and see a little of the area over the weekend. The weather forecast is no rain, 65 to 70 degrees every day. Since Monday is Memorial Day I have to see Dr. Parker on Tuesday just prior to heading to the airport.
I will appreciate all good thoughts and prayers for Laura and I as we travel cross-country.
