So incredibly happy today!  Everything looked perfect on the ultrasound, just as it should for the six and a half weeks pregnant that I am.  We saw the little yolk sac, which is providing nourishment for the baby now.  And a little baby, about the size of a grain of rice, with a wonderful heart beat!  The heart rate was around 130-140/minute, which is just right for now.  It's so amazing to know that the heart can beat while it's so very tiny.  The doctor was super nice.  I have to go back in two weeks for another ultrasound that is ordered by my doctor in Colorado.  But the local doctor said he realizes that two weeks is a long time so if I have any problems, or just get anxious and need reassurance, that I can come in at any time and he'll see me.  I really appreciate that offer but will try to stick to the current plan.  Meaning next ultrasound on October 1st.

I'll post the picture of the little one.  The white oval is the gestational sac.  The bright white spot near the bottom of that sac is the yolk sac.  And I've circle the little baby that I love so much in green.  I know it's hard to see well, but wanted to share it.

  1. Incredible that something as tiny as a grain of rice has a beating heart. So happy today went well. Yay!
