Yesterday's transfer went beautifully!  I was originally scheduled to arrive at the office at 2:00 for a 2:30 transfer but got bumped back an hour, which in hindsight I believe worked to my advantage.  I had worked Sunday night so that gave me plenty of time to get home and ready, spend the morning with Parker and get him down for nap before heading out.  I was feeling good that day, my stress level was low, as I always try to make it.  They do things a little differently here.   Laura was with me and in the room when they brought in the incubator with the embryo.  But first they had given me an actual photograph of the embryo.  They don't have a screen mounted to the incubator like in CO, where you get to see it in real time.  The pic I was given is below, an excellent embryo but not hatched at all.  Parker as an embryo looked like a figure 8 because he was hatching at time of transfer, which is said to make the embryo "stickier."  I have always hoped to have another like Parker, hatching already when put into the uterus.  But the embryologist asked Laura if she wanted to look into the microscope and see it now.  I encouraged her to do it and I'm very happy, if a bit jealous, that she did.  She tells me that this embryo looked a lot like Parker but even more was hatched out of the shell!  That's excellent, in my opinion.  I only wish I had the visual image but will have to make my own from Laura's description.

The procedure itself was great, no difficulties or complications at all.  I rested there for 30 minutes, then was abruptly told it was "time to get up" by a rather unpleasant voice in the doorway.  I dressed and walked to the car, unlike being wheeled out in Colorado.  Back home and into bed.  It was great being at home, with Parker right there, and treated like a queen by Laura and my parents.

Today I spent most of the day on the couch while my family fixed an early Thanksgiving feast for us.  Since we won't be together on the actual holiday, Laura decided to bring it to us a bit early.  They brought some of the dishes already prepared from PA.  And while it seems great to lay around and rest, it's really difficult for me to do, especially as my family works away around me!  But I cannot express how much I appreciate them and their willingness to come all the way to Virginia to be with us for these attempts!  I will never, ever be able to thank them appropriately for all that they have done for Parker and I, as I try to give Parker a sibling.  I love each of you dearly!!!
