I have chosen the egg and sperm donors....what a big decision. Whew, glad that's past. I call her Edie, from ED for egg donor, and call him Speedy, from SpD or sperm donor. I wanted some way to identify them in conversation besides egg and sperm donor. So "Edie" and I are on our meds and have begun the official cycle. "Speedy" will be shipped from Virginia to Colorado next week and they'll hopefully meet on Jan. 29th.  I feel very strongly that this will work, as does my doctor, Dr. Schoolcraft. He talks about baby #2 for me every time I see him. YIKES. I'll only be transferring one embryo as per my perinatologist's recommendation, so will only be having one at a time.

"Edie" is 25 years old, has donated for them 3 times previously and all 3 women achieved pregnancy. Two of them gave birth to twins, unknown results from the third. I'm told our physical features are a good match but that was secondary to me. First I wanted young eggs from a donor who had donated successfully in the past. I'm lucky to have found someone who fulfilled my wishes.  The donors go through so much in this process with medications, injections, ultrasounds, appointments, etc that it is amazing to me.  They are very generous, selfless, caring women and I can't explain how much I appreciate "Edie."

"Speedy" has also donated in the past and pregnancies have been reported.  He is young, tall and handsome according to the staff that describe him.  He will soon graduate from law school.  I can only hope the combination will bring me a happy, healthy baby!
