What's going on with baby this week: Baby should be nearing five and a half pounds by now. The waxy coating of vernix is becoming thicker and the fine hair that has covered the body (lanugo) is nearly gone. The hearing is very well developed and baby can recognize and react to simple songs.
How do I feel: I am more tired again, like in the first trimester when I looked forward to going to bed early, which is not my norm at all. The carpal tunnel issues are making some routine tasks a little more challenging. But none of those negatives outweigh the excitement and gratitude I feel when I think about being 34 weeks pregnant!
What I'm looking forward to: Getting my last progesterone injection this weekend! And getting to the 35 week milestone, because babies born at 35 weeks have a chance at going to the well baby nursery and avoiding the NICU all together.
