31 week update...

What's going on with baby this week:  Baby should weigh around 3.5 pounds and be about 18 inches long.  The immune system is developing rapidly.  His/her brain continues to grow at a rapid rate and can now perceive signals from all 5 senses.  Periods of sleep are becoming longer.

How do I feel:  Good, with no more major fainting episodes.  I felt close to one a few days ago but was able to avoid it by laying down for a few minutes.

What I'm looking forward to:  A slightly less hectic schedule that will allow me to finish the last preparations for baby.  I need to work on names!

The ultrasound yesterday was basically unchanged, the PAC's are occurring every 6 to 10 beats still.  Baby was very active making it difficult for them to get some of the views they wanted.  But the doctor was encouraged by all the activity as the PAC's certainly haven't slowed this baby at all.  She asked if I could schedule the fetal spin class for a time other than the next ultrasound.  :)  No fetal measurements were done.  We were able to watch the baby practice breathing, another marker of health.  The amniotic fluid level was normal and my cervix is long and strong "for an old lady."  Baby was still head down, as he/she should be for delivery.  They were able to combine the appointments so I don't have to go back tomorrow.  My BP was good, weight is now up about 10 pounds total.  The nurse practitioner measured my belly since they didn't measure the baby directly and I measured at 33 weeks.  So it sounds like baby is still two weeks ahead in growth.  I will now see both the high-risk and regular OB weekly.
